This project involved
removing three existing buildings from Central Avenue in Nebraska City, one of which was on the State Historical Register.
Through the process of documenting the building it was felt that the building was simply not salvageable and was measured
and photographed in great detail for the record. An effort was made to draw design concepts and details from the historical building for use in
the new construction. Brick detailing along the top, façade proportions and materials were used to produce a
building that echoes the historical building as well as the fabric of downtown architecture along the main street.
