This project was not only an addition, but a renovation
to the existing 1960’s Otoe County Bank and Trust as well. The existing site had drive through lanes
along the alley and a sunken garden on the corner of 10th Street and Central Avenue in Nebraska City, as seen in the bottom
photo on the left. The existing building was one story and the addition included a basement, main level and upper level that
was built over the top of the existing flat roofed building.Structure penetrated through the existing
building down to new footings in the existing lower level. Banking business continued as usual throughout the construction
process and was phased to accommodate drive through traffic, teller line pedestrian traffic and all egress pathways.Toward the end of construction, the teller line was moved from the temporary location to the permanent spot.On an interesting side note; one of the old vault doors was used as an art focus piece in the main lobby entrance.
